Runners wanted to run for Cherry Trees in The Vitality 10,000 - with a new confirmed date announced.

Cherry Trees has two charity spaces in the confirmed Vitality London 10,000 which won't be run this year in central London but in .....Hertfordshire!

The 10k race distance will now take place in Hatfield Park, a decision made in view of the ongoing pandemic.

There will be two race starts to give people an option of a socially distanced start or one which isn't so.

If you are interested in running and raising money for us, please contact Anna on the Challenges desk: [email protected] to register your interest with us.

We will need to ensure runners are registered with the Vitality console in good time of the final deadline: 5th July, 16:00 to guarantee entry as the race is being organised on a first come, first in basis. The registration process is done by Cherry Trees with consent of the runners supplying their details and confirmation on their part.

Visit The Vitality 10,000 website for further information.

Here's some key info to share:

Does it matter if I haven't done a 10K before ?

Not at all! The really nice element about this event is that it has the ethos of the London Marathon running through it. First time runners are welcomed, whilst for experienced runners it's a date to have your focus set on in your calendar in the lead up to longer races.

Is it a massive fundraising target ?

For this event, we hope runners can ask their supporters to get behind them and help them reach the very attainable target of £250.00 - that breaks down to asking 30 friends, colleagues or family members to donate £8 each.

You could be making visits like a circus entertainer for the afternoon possible for our children, if you raise £250.00 in sponsorship for your 10k run. Our children love it when they get to see the LED light show here at Cherry Trees.

How do I sign up ?

To take one of the two Cherry Trees charity places, all you need to do is complete our sign up form. Please email Anna on the challenges desk at: [email protected]

A small deposit is required.

What happens after I have signed up and paid my deposit ?

We will handle all the console sign-up information with the event organisers and can also help you with creating your own online challenge fundraising page, to help you get your fundraising going.

Is there any training advice or information on what I can eat around my runs to keep me fuelled and fit ?

Yes ! The Vitality 10,000's website has some really good and easy to read sections: https://www.vitalitylondon10000.co.uk/

They also have the newly launched Run Happy and Healthy Plan, an easy to use training guide that will get you ready step by step for your run.
