Get Involved Challenge Yourself Swim Serpentine Organisers have confirmed the 2021 event will take place; SATURDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER 2021. We can offer interested swimmers any of the following spaces, if you would like to take the plunge for us. Here are the distances we places in that we need swimmers for: 3 x 1 mile places 2 x 2 mile places 1 x Super six place. How do I sign-up for Cherry Trees and how much do I have to fundraise? If you are interested please email: [email protected] to register your interest at this point. In 2021 when more information is made known by London Marathon Events who organise Swim Serpentine we can then progress your interest to registration. We are a small charity and like to keep in touch with our challenge fundraisers all the way through their training, up to and after the main day. We ask for the following amounts to be raised for each distance: 1 mile - £250 per person 2 miles - £300 per person 6 miles - £350 per person This year, due to the unpredictable nature of the wider world, caused by the pandemic we are not asking swimmers to pay a deposit with us to secure their space. Here's a bit more information about the different swims which take place at the Serpentine. The Swims Half-Mile Swim:Taking in half a lap of the Serpentine, there is plenty of time to swim this distance at your leisure with a friend, race your mum or dad or just to try out an open water swimming event with an achievable but for some still challenging swim. One-Mile Swim:A classic distance in the world of open water swimming events. The Children with Cancer UK Swim Serpentine takes place on the same course as the London 2012 Marathon Swimming Olympic event, with one full lap around the Serpentine making up the one-mile swim. This is the most popular of all the swim distances for the Children with Cancer UK Swim Serpentine with swimmers taking anything from 20 minutes through to one hour to complete the swim. Two-Mile Swim:For those who would like to test themselves with two full (1.6km) laps of the Serpentine. Aimed at more experienced swimmers who have already completed a mile open water swim previously. A challenging two-lap swim set in a beautiful location. PLEASE NOTE: The 2 mile swim counts towards the London Classics Medal. Super Six Swim: For swimmers who can’t get enough of the open-water experience, there’s an opportunity to swim six miles at the Children with Cancer UK Swim Serpentine. This is swum in one go with stations positioned on the lake to give swimmers a breather. For more information about the event visit the official webpage. Sorry, this event is now sold out.
