My Nephew Tomas has autism and is profoundly deaf. As you can imagine this makes life very difficult for any teenage boy and their family. Tomas is a happy lad and we all love spending time with him, that said it can be hard to find activities that he will enjoy and will not cause him undue stress. It is also tough for his family as Tomas cannot communicate when something is wrong or upsetting him.

Cherry Trees offers a fantastic space for Tomas to spend time in a safe and stimulating environment. Tomas is always truly excited about going to Cherry Trees, he seems to enjoy all the activities and trips. The respite care it provides allows my sister in law, who is the sole carer and provider for the family, having a dependant husband, to do other things, safe in the knowledge that Tomas is happy and well looked after.

I am embarking on a challenge to run 100km in two days through the Island of Arran in Scotland and would like to use this event to raise money for Cherry Trees.
