The weather was damp but spirits certainly weren't as our golfers congregated at Worplesdon Golf Club clubhouse on the morning of Thursday 6th of October. As they munched on their bacon sandwiches and gulped down their first coffees of the day, the rain swept across the course, hammering buggies and even turning a few golf umbrellas inside out! As the last dregs of tea and coffee were finished, however, the sun was starting to peep through, and by the time the golfers gathered on the green and it was time for tee-off, it was blue skies all round.

There was some excellent golf played, albeit some interesting trolley antics here and there (looking at no one in particular- Mr.Lockwood!), and there were some very satisfied golfers in the room as everyone sat down to their 3-course lunch. The atmosphere was buzzing during the auction, which saw some very enthusiastic bidding and brought us a total of just over £4000- an excellent result!

All in all, the day raised an amazing £8,587 for Cherry Trees. We would like to say a huge Thank You to everyone to contributed on the day- Worplesdon Golf Club for having us, Jeremy Lowe our auctioneer, without whom we wouldn't have been able to raise such a fantastic amount at the auction, Trudi Harris and all of our other volunteers for their hard work and impeccable organisation, everyone who donated a prize for our auction or raffle and, finally, our lovely golfers. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did!

For those of you who are interested in joining us next year, our 2018 golf day is being held on Friday October 19th at Woking Golf Club. Feel free to download the enquiry form below and send it in to us, or contact Helen at [email protected] to register your interest.
